New Media Arts Manila presents ELECTROSTATIC SOUND CONFERENCE III. The blackwinged furies of Sonic Art take to the air once again as Manila's sonic hatcheries crack out the incubators at Club Dredd on September 24. Australian Darren Moore of Iron Egg joins the flock with Edsel Abesamis, autoceremony (Jing Garcia), Teresa Barrozo, Blums Borres, Tad Ermitano, Inconnu Ictu, Mark Laccay and Manet Villariba for a night of anti hymns in praise of Hundun, the egg god of chaos.

In addition to the performances, Tad Ermitano will give a short presentation on Quartet, the robotic gamelan installation he created in August for the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) in Singapore. Mark Laccay will also talk about the Maceda Collection Digitization and Preservation project and his experience in Vienna where he acquired a certificate in analog tape technology and tranfer protocols to digital domain.

2008-09-18 On September 11, the alert level was raised at Club Dredd Eastwood. It was the "Alert Level" album's 15th anniversary, and so the bands featured--Color it Red, Tropical Depression, Rizal Underground, and the Breed (represented by Johnny Besa, Manny Amador, and the Wall of Sound)--were there to celebrate. And toss free copies of the album (in casette format!) along the way. Today we feature the Breed's Johnny Besa and Manny Amador!
